PJ Berriman & Co Pty Ltd are engaged in the design, manufacture, repair, overhaul and modification of specialized mining vehicles, explosion protection electrical equipment, power generation and control engineering for the industrial and mining industry sectors.

The company's management philosophy recognises the market place requirement for products manufactured under Quality Management Systems. Accordingly it is fundamental to the company's management policy to manufacture and supply to the market, products suited to their purpose, which are in accord with agreed specifications or contracts and are in conformance with the guidelines determined by the appropriate regulatory authorities.

Our management system addresses the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 9001 1994 Quality Systems -Model for quality assurance in design, development, production, installation and servicing. Employees at all levels of the company are expected to work to the documented company procedures to meet these organisational goals and the expectations and needs of our customers.

The company was established in 1977 and has grown in strength with diversified products and services ever since. A branch operation was formed in 1992 in Emerald in Central Queensland to effectively deliver customer focused service in this growing area. In 1996 the company became Quality Endorsed Organisation, meeting the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 9001 (license No. QEC 3620).

In recent years, the service / maintenance /overhaul activities of the company have become an increasing focus of the company, with both branches operating fully equipped service trucks able to undertake any work on-site anywhere and anytime. Highly skilled and experienced service engineers man the trucks. The company offers comprehensive service contracts to all mines. The facilities in both workshops are second to none. In 1998 our Diesel Testing Laboratory became NATA certified, enabling the facility to be used for routine statutory tests as well as for product development and certification /approval. The Laboratory is fitted with chassis and engine dynamometers and a rheostat for loading diesel gensets. Exhaust emission analysis instruments and computerised data logging make this facility the most advanced in the industry.
